Description
I saw Luke's 3D's “SpaceX Falcon Heavy pen & pen stand” and thought “Wow, what a clever design!”
I couldn't help but want to remix it to accommodate a vape pen. I know somebody who's a total space nut who recently got his medical marijuana card. I think he'll appreciate this gift.
My initial thoughts were to use the boosters to hold additional cartridges, but then decided I did not want for the finished model to have so many removable parts. The main rocket and boosters are intended to be glued into the base. The only removable piece is the cap for the main rocket.
The main rocket holds the vape pen with a cartridge. There are 3 open holders for additional cartridges on the back side of the model, and on the front, there is a slot for the charger and two round dowels for storing two additional silicone caps.
I printed the base in Amazon's Basic black PLA on my Anet A8 and the white pieces using Amazon's Basic white PLA on my Sovol SV05. I didn't use supports on anything, nor even a brim. Had I printed the rocket, boosters, and cap on any of my other machines, I absolutely would have used a brim. For the text on the man rocket I filled in with a black micro sharpie. All the pieces should be printed once except for the booster which will need to be printed twice. The boosters and main rocket should be glued into the base leaving the cap for the main rocket the only loose piece.
Nothing here is to scale with the original Falcon Heavy, I didn't want to be printing forever. I just wanted something that looked like the rocket and would hold the pen and its accessories.
The Ooze twist Slim Pen's body has a diameter of 11.3mm and measures 11.6mm where the button protrudes. The opening in the rocket is 12mm. The height of the Ooze pen with my tallest cartridge installed is 163mm. If your pen doesn't have similar dimensions this model won't work directly for you.
