Description
I recently upgraded my old CTC A10s with a 32 bit silent board and bed level sensor. The A10s is a cheap knockoff of the Creality CR-10 and uses a nearly identical hotend and carriage to the CR-10, so I was looking for a bracket I could use to mount my sensor and found: https://www.printables.com/model/393263-ender-3-bltouch-mount
Ludvig Broom'e's “Ender 3 BLTouch Mount” fit the carriage assembly and sensor perfectly, however, the nozzle of my CTC printer sits a bit lower than those by Creality, subsequently the fully extended pin was still above the tip of the nozzle. Two millimeters is super close to not even needing an offset on my CTC, in fact, my offset on that printer is .1mm and my prints are perfect.
My temporary shims simply had 3 holes, two for mounting and one for replacing the sensor pin. My CTC currently has two of those 1mm shims installed, but I'll be replacing them with one 2mm shim that installs much easier as it's completely open to the inside.
I've included shims ranging from .5mm to 3mm in 1/2mm increments. These shims may work on other bed level sensor mounts or as a gauge for determining the proper elevation for adjustable sensor mounts.
To install this on Ludvig's BLTouch Mount, simply loosen the two screws holding the sensor to the bracket, slide the chosen shim between the sensor and mount and tighten the two retaining screws. Ludvig calls for M3x8mm screws for mounting the sensor. I used M3x12mm because they were the shortest M3 screws I had on hand which was helpful when I realized I'd have to shim the sensor to make this work on my printer. The two screws that come with the BL sensor are even longer and should work fine for shimming purposes.
