Description
Assortment of Gridfinity bins to store and organize Engineer pliers.
I created the bins to be used with this model: https://www.printables.com/model/543553-gridfinity-storage-box-by-pred-now-parametric
The bins are all 3 units high. Their width varies depending on the number of pliers stored.
| Gridfinity bins | |
| Dimension | Number of pliers stored |
| 5x4x3u | 4 |
| 4x4x3u | 3 |
| 3x4x3u | 2 |
| 2x4x3u | 1 |
I tested the bins with the pliers shown below:
Other pliers like the one supplied with the Prusa MK3S/+ kit are also fitting.
| Compatible pliers | |

| Print Settings | |
| Material | I printed and tested with PETG for impact resistance. Other materials like PLA should be just fine too but I haven't tested the model with it. |
| Supports | I recommend using paint-on supports at each of the unit intersections (the blue “dots”) and using organic supports (I don't know how I could live without organic supports). |
| Nozzle and Layer Height | Nozzle: I printed and tested with a 0.4n, a 0.6n should work just fine and will print a bit faster too.
Layer Height: I recommend 0.3mm layer height. 0.2mm layer height worked fine too during testing but it takes significantly longer (12+ hours), and I had some minor adhesion issues in two of the corners after 10 hours. 0.3mm printed much faster (~8 hours) and looked just as fine if not better. |
| Top fill pattern | Hilbert curves everywhere! I am a sucker for Hilbert curves, I like the finish it gives on top surfaces instead of the linear finish. This is totally optional… |
