Description
This additional mount point for the Moen Engage Magnetix handheld showerhead was designed for those that sit on a shower bench and need a close place to hang the showerhead without standing to use the original mounting point or dropping the showerhead into the tub where it is unreachable.
I have included the Fusion 360 parametric model that should allow some modifications to accommodate a different grab bar or a different size magnet. The strong magnet used in this design was acquired from an old computer hard drive.
The build orientation was selected to give strength to the clamp that goes around the grab bar. This also provided an easy way to pause the build to place the magnet and insert. The gcode contains this pause. Support material was used from the base plate only to keep support material from the hole where the magnet is placed during the build.
Originally the magnet was dropped into a hole that was the size of the magnet. When the print continued, the magnet clung to the printhead causing a collision… Oops!
A deeper hole was made to solve this issue where the magnet was dropped into the hole and the insert was put on top of the magnet. This allowed the print to continue and the printhead sufficiently away from the magnet to not interfere with the print.
Every effort was made to create a mount without requiring a magnet; however, using a magnet seems to be the only option with this style of showerhead mount.
