Ender3 3D/BLTouch Mount

I'm so pleased with Ludvig Broome's “Ender 3 BLTouch Mount” that I used to attach the 3DTouch sensor on my CTC A10s, I wanted to try it out on a Ender3 that's using the “Satsana Ender 3 Fan Duct” by “eric-anastas” while protecting the sensor tip with Pheelix14's “BLTouch Cover Protector (Remix) V2”.

Since the Satsana duct directs air to both sides of the hotend and I'm adding the thickness of a sensor cover, I ended up remixing Ludvig's AMAZING mount so that it would fit a printer with the Satsana duct installed, leaving space for the sensor cover.  I would argue also that it's better to keep the touch mount separate from the Satana design to prevent hotend mantenance from disrupting probe offsets.

While this remix may work on other printers and configurations, it has only been test fitted to a stock Ender 3 hotend using the original version of the Satsana duct and a cheap 3DTouch sensor.

I know there are versions of the Satsana duct floating around that have integrated sensor mounts, but I wanted to add touch capabilities for machines that are already using the Satsana duct and to save from unnecessary additional long prints, and, as stated above, I feel it's better to keep these components as separate entities.

I've included a copy of eric-anastas's V59 implementation of his duct which has the top screw opening in the heatbrake airway for easier installation as well as his V52 cable cap for closing the opening at the front.

The cover/protector I've included is the one by Pheelix14 that that best fits my knockoff sensor for this very specific application, however, you should look at Pheelix14's “BLTouch Cover Protector (Remix) V2” if you're using a genuine BLTouch or some other derivative.

The shim pack I've included with this remix is not the shim pack I made originally for Ludvig's mount design, but rather the shim pack I made for my Anet A8 mount.  Those shims just give the whole setup a cleaner look with the touch cover installed.  I'm currently using the 2mm shim with two M3 X 12mm screws but every hotend will differ in elevation.  The shims are open to one end to allow for easy test fitting.

I would encourage anyone who wants to add a BLTouch or 3DTouch sensor to a machine using the stock Creality style cover included with the CR-10, Ender3 and others, to give Ludvig's original design a try.  It mounts rigidly to the hotend carriage, allowing easy maintenance to the hotend without disrupting zero references.  Speaking of zero references, Ludvig was kind enough to include, amongst his detailed and illustrated installation instructions, his probe offsets.  Since this remix moves the sensor an additional 4mm from the nozzle, base settings of -48 mm on X and -5mm on Y should be good ballpark values.  Every touch type sensor I have seems to drop it's pin in a slightly different location.  Unless your bed is severely misshapen, those values should work adequately for you.  The Z offset will vary wildly based on the sensor used, the tip elevation of you hotends nozzle, as well as any shim adaptations.

Consider also giving a like to Ludvig's design as well as the Satsan and touch cover designs.  Each of those authors have obviously put a great deal of thought into their clever designs!
