Dice Dagger Stand

Hey there, wonderful people!

Not surprisingly, many people requested some kind of display stand for the Dice Dagger, which makes sense since it's not really a shape that lends itself to sitting nicely on display. And when you have those glorious hero dice gleaming triumphantly, you definitely want the thing sitting nicely on display!

So, presenting the cryptically-named Dice Dagger Stand! Fashioned from ancient ropes formed in such a way to cradle the precious blade vertically, to hold the d20-bearing pommel aloft! Or something like that, anyway :)

But, there's some stuff to dig into here! There are in fact three different versions of this model:

* A single material version

* A multimaterial version for Prusa MMU/Bambu AMS/Palette etc

* An assembly version for single material printers to create multicoloured versions.

Single Material Version

The name says it all! This one is just the form itself, and it's the one in white-ish filament in the pictures.

Multimaterial Version

In cassic multimaterial style, this version breaks up the model into the cords, the connectors and the base, so that they can be printed together using filament swapping systems that allow for multiple filaments in a single print. However, you can get pretty much the same results with the assembly version, below....

Assembly Version

This version just breaks out the connectors from the main model, with the intention being that you can just glue them in after the fact. But what about the cords and the base, you ask? That's exactly what I've done in my version in the photos - swapped from grey to brown at the top of the base. Then just print the connectors and stick them on and hooray, it's all done!

Print Description

There shouldn't be anything especially tricky about this print! The tolerances for fitting the connector pieces in are quite generous (though the connectors are not all the same - make sure you have them correctly positioned!)

Print Dimensions

The Dice Dagger Stand occupies 99mm x 99mm on the print bed and is 124mm tall.

Supports Needed?

Not at all!  Designed for straightforward printing!

Scalability

This'll scale easily up or down, but you'll probably want it to match the scale of your Dice Dagger!

Print Orientation

Both the main body and the connectors print right-way-up.

Further Thoughts

Multimaterial printing is getting more and more reliable and accessible, but I still love a solution that avoids that technology entirely, and manages to achieve the same kind of result :)
