Description
Many of our workshops (or call them maker-spaces) could probably need a bit more frequent vacuuming. But who has the time to store away all our valuable small parts from our workbenches or desks? These nozzles will protect all you valuables unless they are so tiny that they count as dust (use these nozzles at your own risk, worst case you need to dig out your ultra tiny parts from the dust catcher in your vacuum cleaner).
Printing these parts is easier than it might seem. Both nozzles can be printed upright standing. I recommend a brim, which can be quickly removed and protects your print from failing in the final phase. No supports are needed, thanks to a carefully done design on the lower side of the hexagon filter structure.
Choose 3 perimeters and you will be fine. As the walls are relatively thin, the setting for infill does actually not matter at all.
I have tested these prints with PETG on a Prusa i3 MK3S, but I strongly assume that PLA should be totally fine as well. On the hexagon filter structure there is quite a bit retracts during the print. A printer with a direct extruder probably has an advantage here, but a bowden extruder should also be able to do the job.
These parts are made with a 2mm hexagon radius and fit to a 32mm vacuum cleaner hose. To make it fit to other vacuum cleaner sizes, you can either scale these parts by the needed factor, your you can use one of the various adapter pieces that are available here on printables.com. Please contact me if you would like to see a finer or more coarse filter structure. I have experimented with various sizes. For me this sizes makes most sense, but you may have other applications.
