Description
My main motivation to make these caps was to hold a few small silica gel packs inside the spool at all times. That works like a “moisture capacitor” for the spools. If you take them out of a bigger box and put them into a heated (or non heated) box for printing, your filament will never be exposed to too much humidity.
Of course it is also very nice to have the actual filament color visible form the side of the spool.
These parts are very easy to print. Just put them on your print bed in the uploaded orientation and print them with the defaults settings (2 perimeters, infill does not matter for these thin parts).
I strongly recommend to use PETG as material. Thanks to the flexibility of this material, the hooks work very well and do not become loose over time (like they do with PLA).
