Simple phone aiming platform (Copy of Matthias Wandel's Design)

This is a near identical copy of Matthias Wandel's Design found here.

I added a smartphone holder that interfaces with the existing dowels.

The plastic on plastic interface ended up being more slippery than wood on wood. I opted to use a strip of open-cell weather stripping to add friction. But I think placing a piece of cloth between the halves or sanding the surfaces would work also.

If you print large flat sides down there is no need for supports. I printed the dowels vertical with brims.
