Description
A tool designed for cleaning 8mm, 4-start, 2mm pitch lead screws, such as those commonly found on the Anycubic Kobra Neo and similar devices.
This tool features smaller fins on one side of the clamp, which serve to guide a paper towel into the threads of the screw for the purpose of cleaning.
Using this method to clean a lead screw offers several advantages when compared to other designs:
The design at the tip allows for easy insertion of the tool into the shaft and even enables the application of force afterward for better tightening.
The paper towel can be disposed of after each use.
The clamp's design doesn't exert axial pressure on the screw.
The tool can be printed quickly as a single piece.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to print with the highest quality settings available. The space between the printed threads and the channels of the lead screw is intentionally designed to accommodate both paper towels and thinner materials. Additionally, you can enhance the cleaning process by using isopropyl alcohol.
