Description

After converting my FLSun SR to Direct Drive Extruder, I left out the PTFE bowden tube to have less friction/resistance. Shortly thereafter, I realized that since the filament is fed straight down, the filament rubs the plastic on the edge of the sensor (see arrow in picture).

So I had the idea that the filament sensor must be guided at an angle to the DD extruder to avoid plastic abrasion on it. I quickly came up the first design in which the adapter is screwed on with one screw and the sensor is screwed to the adapter with the other screw.

Old design: Old_FilamentSensorAdapter.stl.

Shortly thereafter, I completely changed the design to be able to hold a PTFE tube at the bottom of the sensor. This new type of mount runs at the same angle to the DD Extruder as the first design, but guides the filament better. In this design, the tube holder is screwed on with one screw.

New design: New_FilamentTubeHolder.stl

PTFE tube hole diameter = 4.2 mm

I recommend printing the new design vertically, as shown in the picture, to ensure that the hole for the PTFE tube doesn't get deformed during printing. While it can potentially be printed flat, there's often a risk of holes being printed with an oval shape due to poor cooling.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neues Design: New_FilamentTubeHolder.stl

PTFE Schlauch Loch Durchmesser = 4,2 mm
