Description
My mothers scarifier (lawn refresher) went useless, when the main handle broke off. It was pretty clear that gluing the broken part was not sensible, it would likely break off right again. So I opened the switcher box and was shocked to find this ridiculously complex design of the handle inside the box. Measuring the original part precisely enough for designing a clone was hard. And it took me a few test prints before the new part did fit at least as good as the original part. I doubt that you have the same scarfier, as it is a bit old already. But I am sharing this part to show that even very complex replacements parts are possible to make.
As the part needs to be strong, I recommend at least 4 perimeters, 5 top and 5 bottom layers and at least 25% infill. I used PETG, as I always do for functional parts.
Supports are needed from the build plane. but their distance to the part can be set to 0.25mm or even 0.3mm, which makes them a charm to remove afterwards.
I recommend to print this part in the uploaded orientation.
Yes, I have to admit that I am proud that I could prevent this large and heavy machine from being thrown away by doing this repair. If you agree, please give me a like.
If you should seriously have the same machine and really print and use this part, I would be totally thrilled to hear from you.
Happy printing!
