Plant label

Use Openscad to create labels for your garden.  

I always forget the names of my plants so this is a big help.

The blank label for these models is 100 mm wide by 40 mm tall.  The stem ( the part that goes into the ground) is 100 mm long and 12 mm wide by only 1 mm thick.  I found these dimensions to be just fine and easy to insert in the ground after a little watering.

The Openscad script uses the Anton Google font, but any one loaded in your computer will do.

You can have one or two lines of text and adjust centering and the font size.  

I have used 0.25 mm layer height and do a colour change at 1.20 mm.  See the Carpathian-bellflower.3mf file for details.  I have included STL files for all my garden varieties.  One of these might suit you.

After you have printed your label, soak it in hot tap water for about a minute.

 Then bend it at the label-stem joint.  I try to get 30 degrees from the horizontal so that it is easy to read when inserted.
