Use-case and motivation for this part
Yes, I admit that this may be the most senseless 3D printable part from an economical point view. But I love to reverse engineer unknown threads. So I could not resist to come up with this design for the Schweppes soda bottle.
In fact there is a serious background to this design. The idea is to add a nozzle to the cap, to get a nice pourer for this bottle. If I succeed to come up with a well working design, I will use it to fill up the windscreen washer tank of my car.
If you don't have a Schweppes bottle
This design was also successfully tested on Gerolsteiner 0.5l water bottles. Even more importantly, there are some really cute little bottles here on Printables that fit perfectly to this cap: https://www.printables.com/model/227514-tiny-bottles-with-pet-bottle-cap-size
Printing instructions
This part is very easy to print. No supports or brim is needed. Simply print this part with 100% infill in the uploaded orientation.
I have printed the silver grey part in the pictures on a Prusa i3 Mk3S from PETG (supplier DasFilament.de). But I am fairly sure most other printers will be able to do the job as well. The thread angle is 90°, which means your printer needs to be able to print 45° overhangs. Basically all printers that I know can do that. To use PLA should also work.
Have fun with this part and feel free to remix it if you have other cool ideas for soda bottles.
Happy Printing!
