Description

This is a standard deck of French playing cards. The deck consists of 52 cards with suits clubs (♣), diamonds (♦), hearts (♥) and spades (♠), numbered from 2 to 10, Jack to Ace. There is an optional Joker card to print if needed. I have also included a storage box for the entire deck that holds 54 cards (standard deck + 2 jokers).

I have shrunken down the size of the cards to 38 x 51 mm. This is to save space on the printbed and to keep the size of the complete set more manageable. The details on the cards are big enough so that they can be printed with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.

The cards have a total thickness of 1 mm. In my testing, this was necessary so that the cards are not see-through anymore. I recommend printing the “body” of the cards in black, this is also to prevent the see-through effect.
A color change should be added for the last layer. E.g. print the body of the cards in black and then change to white for the last layer that contains the suit and number. The color change can be done manually with most modern printers/slicers and does not require a AMS or MMU.

Here is how to set up the color-change in Prusa Slicer:

  1. Slice the file as you normally would
  2. In the print-preview screen, you should see a orange + sign at layer 1.00
  3. Right click the plus sign and select “add color change…”
  4. Select a color (this is just for visualization in the slicer) and click OK

Recommended print settings:

  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Solid Top/Bottom layers: 2 or more
  • Infill: does not use infill
  • Brim: not needed
  • Support: not needed
  • Add a color change for the last layer
