Description

I love my Comandante manual coffee grinder but I always forget to how many clicks I had set my burr, especially when switching between coffees and brew methods. So I created this little counting gadget in Comandante style. It makes a nice clicking sound and snaps very smoothly between numbers, so it also works has a fidget toy when waiting for the kettle or espresso machine to heat up…

It consists of five parts: back plate, a spring, two wheels and front plate

Printed in PLA with 0,2mm layer height. The front part and two wheels can be printed in one go if you want the two color version like mine (the color change is on the same layer). Printing the numbers in a third color also looks pretty nice.

I decided to make a design without screws or snap joints to get a slim body and clean surface, so it needs to be glued. For stability and as a guide there are seven pins, each getting a small drop of glue. The spring part fits quite tightly on the pins, so it's best to use some pliers to push it together. To get a neat and gapless body I recommend to clamp it while the glue dries:
