Description
A what? With the world returning to semi-normalcy, but tele-interaction becoming even more common, sometimes it's necessary to have a "busy" indicator that can be seen easily from a distance in an "open office" setting. Stick the base to your monitor or cubicle wall, somewhere that's easy to reach but easy for others to see from afar. Raise the flag when you wish not to be disturbed. Or, in a call center type environment, this can be handy for an agent to request attention from a team lead or manager so that both hands can be used for managing the customer interaction. Also great for an educational environment in place of raising hands for help, especially in a computer lab of some kind.
My wife bought a bunch of these for her office but needed more, and the only sellers appeared to have been replaced by insecure sites or scammers, so asked me to print some. I found things with similar purpose, but nothing with the same design. It was simple enough to measure and redesign in order to print. I also improved the tolerances and added a feature to make snapping the hinge parts together easier. The STL is provided in appropriate printing orientation without any supports needed, but feel free to split it up and re-orient as you need. The flag pole is just within the bed size of a Prusa Mk3, but can easily be stretched if you feel a longer pole is necessary. Depending on your material and printer, the flag pole may need some help to stay in. The pole is 0.1mm smaller in radius than the hole for it.
I've included flag poles with a flags as well, if you don't want to source and cut/tape some kind if paper or fabric flag.
