Back story
Apparently in 1950 Colgate had a competition to find ways to sell more toothpaste. Someone said they could increase the sales of toothpaste by 40% for $100,000. Colgate agreed, and the the idea was to increase the nozzle size from 5mm to 6mm. Since the 1950's the size of the nozzle has increase to 7mm in the 1980s and then now to 8mm in the 2000's. This is an increase in nozzle area and this volume by about 250%.

Well no more Colagate! This model is a small nozzle reduce, it goes inside the modern 8mm nozzles to reduce the size and the amount of toothpaste you use.
Each reduce comes in 4 sizes, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm. We have been using the 5mm for about a month. Its been epically good for the kids who seem to use a lot
Printing
This is possibly the smallest 3d print you will ever do. Its its about 0.5g of fulfillment and takes 4mins to print. Basic slicer settings work fine for me. Enabling ‘avoid-crossing-perimeters’, can help reduce stringing.
Usage
The reduce is designed to go inside the current nozzle. Unscrew the the lid, insert the reducer and screw the lid back on. It will be held in place, between the tube and the lid.
Large lid style. The reducer is tapered to sit in the lid. The taper holds it in place. | |
Small lid style. The reducer outer walls are straight. Its held in by the lid that sits on the flange. |
