This is a wallplate for a 1-gang device box (North American standard) that has two 30mm button cutouts. My specific use case was to replace a secondary wired garage door wall control that stopped working with my new Security+ 2.0 garage door opener, until I got a ratgdo device.
Design features
- The button cutouts are sized exactly for this 30mm Ultra Short LED Light Metal Push Button Switch.
- The wallplate is 15mm deep which is enough for small cable management.
- The screw cutouts will accept up to a #8 countersunk wood screw, and will also work fine with a #6-32 metal screw typically used with a device box.
- The overall outer width/length is identical to a standard Decora plate.
Printing instructions
- Print the .stl file as-oriented (the face of the wallplate on the build plate); no supports are needed.
Installation instructions
- Place the hex nut in the slot and turn the button into place (without the wire attached).
Notes
- My entire design is parameterized in OpenSCAD. If you'd like any modification (e.g., button size or position, overall wallplate size/depth, etc.) please reach out and I'll see what I can do.
