Description
When you have used all the filament on a Prusa Spool you can still use it.
Recycle the cardboard insert before printing a PLA inner drum to the spool.
This can be used for those small samples or any filament you have that does not have a spool of its own.
Once printed the inner drum you fit it over the plastic circle on the inside of the spool. The straight edge of the print aligns with the slot on the inner edge of the spool. This will then align the screw holes.
Whilst the drum holds the spool sides quite tight I suggest you use M3 bolts to fasten the drum to the two outer spool edges. You can use bolts around 60mm in length with nuts for the full width of the spool or bolts 16mm in length screwing into the drum from either side.
No supports required just standard PLA settings with 10% infill.
