Gyrotourbillon - Jaeger-LeCoutre model

This design was modeled it after a Jaeger-LeCoutre Gyrotourbillon, which they offer in several of their high-end watches. I tried to make the model an accurate (scaled up) version of the original mechanism, which is less that 10mm in diameter. Spending many hours looking at videos of the mechanism to try to get it right. The project started only 4 weeks ago, and I've been fortunate that everything has fallen together nicely.

I'm happy to announce that MakerRx has started shipping a kit of the all the non-printed parts necessary to build the Gyrotourbillon. Once you have this kit all you need to make this are these files and a 3D Printer.

Updated the Build Notes.

• Added Screw and bearing notations to figures.

• Changed L1 Frame 1 to the L1 Frame Support 1 screws from M2x12 to M2x10. 2/21/21

  I uploaded a EASM file of the whole Gytotourbillon assembly. With an EASM Viewer, you can rotate the assembly in 3D space, highlight individual parts, do blowups, etc. Hopefully the file will answer some of the assembly questions that the Build Notes do not. Please message me if you found this way of documenting the design useful, or if you didn't. Thanks!

  Based on cshake's make feedback I've posted STLs for a larger L2 Counter Weight (L2 Counter Weight 2.stl and L2 Counter Weight Cover 2.stl). According to his analysis, the counter weight should be about 15g, and my old (smaller) counter weights only provided 3g. I also posted a new "L1Drive Gear 50T 1M 2" STL that has a recess so the gear won't rub against the L2 Frame.

  Added forgotten L3 Base Bottom Cover to Thing Files. This is a very tight fit, so you will have to file the edges.

  This model is about 175mm in diameter. I power it with a 2 Amp USB power supply.
