Description

This is another modified version of the CR-10 display housing included in xxricsx's CR-10 Standalone kit:  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2747280

I wasn't happy with the sluggishness of the display that came with my Anet A8 Plus, and had already replaced it with a neopixel display which I was less happy with due to its size.

I liked the look and positioning of the display housing I made for the CTC originally so I'm borrowing xxricsxx's work once again.

The display back is intended to be attached to the stand with three self tapping screws, however, I'm using the 9/64" machine screws I'd installed the original display with.  M3 hardware should work similarly for attaching the back to the stand.

Installation:  Attach the stand to the aluminum extrusion on the left side of the printer at the desired location using 4 M4 screws and T-nuts.

Draw four M3 nuts into the four provided openings in the display back.  For this I used a M3x20mm screw and flat washer from the inside of the back for pulling the nuts in.

Attach the display back to the stand using three self tapping screws, 9/64" machine screws, or M3 screws with or without nuts.

Push four M3x20mm hex cap screws through the display face from the outside, then slide and delicately press the Ender 3 display onto the four screws from the inside, and fully seat the display board.

Push the display and face into the display back and tighten the four M3x20 screws from the front.

Attach the display ribbon cable to the left most position of the display board “EXP3”, and to the display port of the mainboard.

This could be printed without supports, although, I recommend supports to buildplate for the face and back to provide a foundation for the screw and nut holes.  Those supports simply push out with a small jewelers screw driver or M3 screw from the opposite sides.
