Description
This bracket & gasket combo is for better sealing a 0.56" LED Display/Meter utilizing a printed TPU gasket and a bracket that uses 2x M3 screws to squeeze the meter and gasket to the panel. This design was surprisingly challenging and took ~6 printed revisions before I had something I liked. THIS is the exact display I'm using in my Mountain Board, but any 0.56" display with a mounting hole of 45x26mm should work! My panel thickness is ~1.5mm, but anything between ~1-2mm should work.
2x of the M3x12mm Screws are used for pressing the bracket away from the panel, thus squeezing the meter face and gasket together tighter. BE CAREFUl when tightening these screws, they can take quite a bit of force, but if your filament has poor layer adhesion it might break.
The other 2x M3x6mm Screws are used to lock the meter to the bracket.
In the cross-section below you can see how the 2x top and bottom M3x6 screws (Yellow) lock into the meter.
(Green = Meter, Purple = Bracket, Orange = Panel, Yellow = M3x6 Screws)
If you can't access one of the M3x6mm screws when installed, you can tighten one, then slide the bracket over with some force until it locks in, then tighten the opposite screw to lock the bracket onto the display.
For the bracket, I recommend printing at a high permitter and infill, especially around the locking M3x6mm Screws. The attached .3mf file has an infill modifier in the recommended location.
For the gasket, just needs to be printed in a flexible filament like TPU.
