Description
đź’ˇ A useful model to use in CAD software to design objects that will be lit up, such as lamps or lanterns, or in your Slicer to scale models to make sure the light will fit inside.
Import this mesh into your 3D program and design around it to ensure a correct fit and assembly.Â
This is the internal actual fixture, after removing the cylindrical plastic encasing and the soft plastic “flame” that diffuses the LED light. This is because those parts add unnecessary volume, so you can achieve a more compact design and scale things even smaller to fit only the necessary parts of the light fixture.Â
You can sand lightly the LED “bulb” to diffuse the light, so it's “frosted” instead of perfectly clear/transparent.Â
An even further-trimmed version is provided, with cut “legs” and parts of the circular base that are unnecessary.
Designs vary by manufacturer and style, but in general they are the same as this model.
-----
Battery-powered LED tea lights that resemble small candles are easy and convenient light sources for 3D printed objects. They are wireless and have easy on-off switches, with a warm, sometimes flickering light.Â
