WORMFARM | Modular Composting Worm Tower

For a long time I've wanted to compost, but I don't have a garden, only a balcony on which I grow what I can in pots.

So I designed this composting worm tower that can fit directly into a planter, or in the ground if you have a garden.

The tower comes in 2 sizes and is modular, made of 3 sections:

• the bottom cylinder (H200mm) (with holes for the worms to go in and out)
• an optional top cylinder (H150 to 200mm) (to add some height to your tower if you need)
• a lid with an aeration grid that protects from the rain, and that you can screw on either the bottom cylinder or the top cylinder.
   

I started my vermiculture with about 100 worms that I dug out under rocks by a stream in the forest. But you can buy some online.
 

I filled up the worm tower with the following layers, from the bottom to the top:

• bottom layer: dead leaves and some paper bag shreds
• then the worms (red wrigglers)
• then some food scraps, mixed with a little bit of soil and a few pinches of sand
• then some more paper bag shreds on top. 
  I'm new to composting so I hope I got it right...

No adhesion brim required.

For BambuLab users, turn on "Arachne" mode in the "Wall Generator" settings.
Otherwise Bambu Studio will detect some of the weave layers as empty.
