Radius Gauge Wheel

Take this little gauge between your middle finger and your thumb. Now you can rotate it with your index finger. This way it is a matter of seconds to determine the outer radius of any kind of edge.

All credit for the creative part of this design goes to a friend of mine. I have just done the CAD design and printing of this part, based on his ideas and feedback.

If you try this part with a set of drill bits, you will see that you can typically determine the size at a precision of 1mm. Keep in mind thought that you are measuring the radius, not the diameter. A 10mm drill bit will give you a perfect match at the 5mm radius mark.

Printing

Printing should be very simple. You can print this in basically any material, on any printer and with any infill. The one in beige was printed on a Prusa i3 MK3S from PETG. The blue one is from PLA, printed on a Ender3Pro. Layer height was 0.15/0.16mm, but more should not harm I guess. Materials are all from DasFilament.de

Coloring

Of course you can use a color change during the print. The numbers on the top side are 1mm high, which gives you plenty of layers to introduce. I have simply used a black pen (Edding 3000) and carefully tapped the numbers. That looks good as well and is less time consuming than a color change during the print.
