Designed this housing to mount to the bottom of my Rancilio Silvia V3 coffee machine to fit the following components:
The housing has a snap fit lid and is bottom mounted to be as far away from moisture and heat as possible.
Print settings:
- Despite being away from the heat, I do recommend printing it out of a strong & heat-resistant material. I printed mine in PETG.
- I'd recommend a minimum of 4 walls and a high infill to create some strength.
What you'll need:
I have designed this housing with the following additional mounting hardware in mind.
- To mount the PCB to the housing:
- 4 * M3 heat set inserts (max length - 7mm)
- 4 * M3 x 8mm bolts (may be slightly shorter)
- To mount the housing to the coffee machine:
- 2 * M4 heat set inserts (max length - 9mm)
- 2 * Washers ⌀ 10mm OD(must fit M4 bolt)
- 2 * M4 x 16mm bolts (may be longer)
- To mount he power supply to the housing:
- Optionally, I have a ~ 12mm x ~ 15mm rubber grommet on the opening.
Installation instructions:
- Add all the heat set inserts to the housing
- Flip your Rancilio Silvia on its side or upside down (don't forget to remove you water thank 😋)
- Unbolt the two pump bolts
- Feed the power supply wires down to the bottom of the machine where the housing will be mounted.
- Feed the power supply wires through the hole in the housing first.
- Position the power supply in the housing and secure it in place with the two small M3 bolts from the side.
- Drop the housing in place and secure it with the pump bolts, and two M4 bolts + washers from the top.
- You can now add the PCB whenever you are ready to.
- Add the lid and start your brew.
And finally, head over to the rancilio-pid/clevercoffee project on GitHub and give them some love, all credits for the PCB go to all the contributors there.
And, do you like this model?
