Description
I needed a longer solution for clearing Clogs out of my fully assembled Tool Head than what commercially available solutions could provide so I made my own out of a 200mm long, 1.7mm Diameter Stainless Steel Rod for which I 3D Printed a Handle…
Included are two Variants…
Regular:
Which has an M3x8mm Socket Head Cap Screw thread directly into the Plastic to hold onto the Rod ( not pictured ).
Professional:
Requiring one Voron Style M3x4mm Heat Set Insert for the M3x8mm SHCS to thread into.
Multi Color Model:
Both Variants come as simple Multi Color Model ( 2x Color Swaps ) to add a touch of flair for those that can be bothered - For those that do not just print it as a single-Color Project:
Print Suggestions:
I've printed mine with 0.2mm Layer Height, 4x 0.4mm Perimeters for the majority of the Shaft +1 for the shallow angle portion of the “Guard” to prevent the Infill - which I set to 40% - from showing through.
I'd also suggest increasing the Nozzle Temperature and reducing the Part Cooling Fan to improve Layer Bonding - Don't want the forces of you trying to shove a Clog out of the Nozzle cause the Handle from coming apart, eh? 😉
Word of caution:
Perhaps consider shortening the length of the Rod when attached to the Handle to end up just shy of the entrance of the Nozzle ( in particular with CHT Style Nozzles ) to prevent Damage to it.
BOM:
Other use cases:
Excellent for calibrating the Filament Gates of an ERCF 😁
