Description
Lock for cupboards that gets unlocked by a magnet. This makes cupboards toddler proof. I use it mainly in the kitchen, where the little dude often made a mess by emptying the bottom cupboards.
BOM:
2 Neodymium magnets 10mm * 10mm * 5mm
2 M3 screws, 18mm length
3 4mm wood screws, length at least 10mm
Instructions:
print all parts
assemble all parts (should be self explanatory), put the magnets to place (glue them if they are to loose)
screw the hook with hinge to the door at the desired height
screw the latch inside the cupboard: the middle of the screw rail is 3.5cm from the door plane away. Measure this distance and screw one screw to the rail, semi fixed.
adjust the latch to fit the hook and test
screw the second screw to the latch to fix it permanently Thanks to Non-ICE for the good basis. My
Changes to the original:
latch and hinge axes reinforced by M3 screws, threads modeled
washer to hold the hook in place (don't use a metal one, it will interfere with the magnet on the hook)
screw rail on the latch part
new ergonomic key
minor changes to dimensions, e.g. tighter fit for the magnet in the hook Fusion 360 project file is attached.
