Description
These small parts were designed as a replacement for the standard spool holder bracket of the Bambu Lab A1 Mini printer.
Originally, this is a temporary solution for me. In the final setup, the spool holders will be mounted on perforated Skådis panels. However, due to a recent relocation, the situation is quite simple: some equipment is still unpacked, the AMS cables haven’t been found yet, and printing is needed right now. As a result, I had to temporarily return to the stock bracket.
At the same time, I never liked the standard holder—neither structurally nor visually. The solution came quickly: I designed my own mount, and I already had a shaft for a rotating spool holder.
Why a threaded connection? The answer is straightforward. Other parts of my holder system for perforated panels are already based on threaded connections. I deliberately maintain a single, consistent design principle. Later, when I rebuild the entire workbench wall, I will publish those solutions and show how the whole system works together. For now, this is specifically a replacement for the standard holder.
As the rotating unit, I used standard AMS Lite spool holders . I liked them from the very beginning. I bought them separately—they are quite affordable and well designed. Their key feature is the reverse movement that slightly rewinds the filament. This prevents the filament from slipping off the spool, and in practice, it really works.
I found this solution so successful that I decided to use it even in a regular, “temporary” holder. As a result, the design clearly outperforms the stock A1 Mini holder in terms of functionality and usability, while remaining simple and logical.
At the moment, this is a practical, working alternative to the standard spool holder—without unnecessary complexity, but with a clear improvement in everyday use.

it means great recognition for me and helps a lot to keep going!
