One Power Supply for Two AMS 2 Pro

At the beginning of this year, I received my first AMS 2 Pro. For it, I used a non-original power supply with similar specs — 24 volts and 4 amps, as recommended by Bambulab. I didn’t want to buy the official one for 30 euros since my power supplies worked perfectly fine for the job.

When the second AMS 2 Pro arrived, I decided to use the same type of power supply but rated for 9 amps. One AMS 2 Pro needs about 4 amps with some margin, so 9 amps is more than enough to power two devices. This way, a single power supply handles both AMS 2 Pro units.

These power supplies on AliExpress cost between $9 and $12 — significantly cheaper than the original. For installation, you’ll need rubber feet or magnets depending on where you mount it, silicone wires, and metal connectors — which are more reliable and look better, though cheaper options exist.

The total savings exceed 40 euros, which is quite substantial. If that amount isn’t critical for you, go with the original. But for me, this solution was a very appealing and cost-effective choice. After all, you can buy a lot of other useful stuff with that money saved.

The power supply case is fully open for free air circulation — cooling is excellent from all sides, though the unit barely heats up. I’ve been using this power supply for a long time, but only got around to publishing this now — I think I made it last summer.

For assembly, you’ll need countersunk M2.5 screws, 6 mm long, and matching M2.5 heat-set nuts. That’s all you need for a simple and reliable setup.

Printing notes: To get the top and bottom grids, set your slicer to honeycomb infill with no top or bottom layers. If you’re not familiar with this, I recommend downloading the 3MF file — it’s already configured.
