Description
Modular filament spool storage system - works with all 1kg spools
Â
The system is built from individual stackable boxes designed to store one filament spool each. Every box includes a printable tag slot, so you can clearly label filament type, color or material for easy identification.
Â
The lid is closed properly when the two protrusion (which makes it easier to open/close) are aligned.
The alignment doesn´t have to be exact depending on your printer tolerances (+-20mm is okey)
Â
There is 4 types of the lid.
TPU sealed lid with hygrometerÂ
Make sure that the TPU seal is instaled properly so the box can fully close.Â
Â
For the seal, use TPU 95A, 90A or 85A. Softer can be fine but I did not tested that. TPU for AMS is not compatible as it is too hard!
Â
Lid update 27/4 2026
Early unsealed lids could had colision between the inner ring of the lid and the face of the box for some users. This was fixed by making the tolerances looser. If you have the issue with the lid cant closing fully but stayng ÂĽ rotation of, you can reprint the lid.
Â
You can also print box with hole for bambu circular hygrometer. There is one with and one without the thread for the silica container.
There is also version with TPU ring for the hygro for maximum seal. The ring is the same as the one for the sealed lid w hygro.
Â
Standard box also have version without the thread for silica container.
Â
There is 4 types of the tags, choose one you like.
There are some tips for text editing in the print profile description.
The editing have to be done in the slicer, Handy app can´t do that.
You can also print blank tag and write on it with a pen!
Despite being sturdy and functional, the whole box uses only 239 g of PLA (including the silica container), making it lightweight and material-efficient.
Â
A separate silica container can be placed inside to help keep the filament dry.
Â
Each box is stored on stand or rack, you can choose the storing option.Â
I made stands for 3, 2 or just 1 box, you can connect them for whatewer number you want. 🙂
The rack is stackable and you can connnect them on the side. You can also print TPU legs.
Â
Â
I added containers/stand for storing unused tags. There are ones for 20 or 10 pieces.
All parts are designed for easy printing and assembly, no complicated hardware needed.
Â
It is really important to let the lid cool down before removing it from the buildplate - othervise it will bend and the thread will not funkcionate properly.
Â
I´ll be very happy to hear your feedback in the comments!
