Description
A mashup of my tambour card box, and Phyrexian Swamp card tribute. I felt like the logical conclusion was to Boolean the card art onto the side of the box.
The printing and assembly instructions are mostly the same, except that a 5-filament printer is now required. Please refer to the original instructions here. All other files except for the MotherShell should also be grabbed from there.
This thing only replaces the Mothershell, which is now separated into 6 uniquely colored pieces. 5 of the pieces will have their intended color in their *.stl filename. The MotherShell.stl file can be any one of the 5 colors, reused - for the preview unit, I chose to reuse purple.
"Preview unit" refers to the 3D printed make of this thing used for the video and project gallery.
Demo and assembly can be found at https://youtu.be/vn4pVrlbzfM.
The assembly demonstration is pretty much identical to the original's assembly video.
The filament used in the preview unit:
For this preview unit, I decided to test out 3dbyJoe's 10x3mm Magnet remix for using rare-earth magnets instead of the original latch. It works great!
The license is set to non-commercial. This thing is heavily focused on artwork that I do not have the rights to; Mark Riddick created it as a commission for Wizards of the Coast. Luckily, WotC is pretty cool about fan-made stuff for personal enjoyment.
This is a moderately large piece that requires all 5 colors for a lot of layers. Make sure your purge-tower/wipe-tower is printing correctly as the layers progress. I've had some (as in plural) failed attempts where the wipe tower started getting excess extruded material and would get knocked over 2/3rds through. For the record, that culprit was Amazon Silk Silver PLA - normally it's fine, but that filament didn't seem to jive well as part of a multifilament print, even after buying an entirely new wheel.
